What is quality?
Quality is defined as: "The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something". Value is somewhat subjective and often individual, so is translation quality. First we have to define quality to determine what makes a good translation.
This is where concepts, such as target audience, terminology, semantics, syntax, style etc. come in. In short, what can be an excellent text for some can be sub-par for others if it's not adapted for the right audience. It is extremely important to adapt terminology to suit the target audience and it is thus paramount that you tell us to whom we should tailor the translation, to suit the required vocabulary level.
